ASD Presents / Discover Dowsing

ASD Online Program Overview

The American Society of Dowsers offers two online programs each month to teach and promote dowsing in all its forms. These programs are designed to help foster and sustain the exchange of information with our world-wide dowsing communities. These programs are promoted via email and social media to our entire mailing list, and often serve as a way to introduce new ideas and speakers. Moderators are assigned to all speakers in order to introduce them, admit the audience to the call, facilitate technical aspects, and monitor the chat / questions. The speaker will need to provide the moderator with a brief introduction, bio, and any links and/or resources that the speaker would like to share with the audience. The programs are intended to be educational, so to avoid any self-promotion, the moderator will use this information to introduce the speaker, post links and contact information, and wrap up the presentation. All programs are recorded, and are offered for sale/ view through ASD. The two programs are as follows.

Presentations are open to ASD members and non-members alike. Non-members may be speakers. This is a lecture format with time for Q&A.

Presentations are offered on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 8pm Eastern Time. They are approximately 60 minutes, with the following recommended format:

  • 5 min. Introduction of the speaker by the moderator with a briefing of online meeting protocols. This includes speaker contact information, upcoming speakers events, and supporting materials/handouts that listeners can access or are available for purchase.
  • 30 - 40 min. Talk
  • 15 - 20 min. Q & A
  • Conclusion and Wrap up by the Moderator.

Workshops are included in ASD membership and available for purchase by non-members. The goal of the workshop is to provide practical knowledge through attendee participation in interactive exercises to learn a new skill or enhance one of their own. Note: Only ASD members are permitted to present a workshop. If you are not a member, and would like to become one, click here. ASD will compensate the Workshop Presenter $100.00 for all of the additional work that is involved in conducting a workshop. The workshop follows the same format typically as the presentation (see above); the talk portion may be extended to facilitate practical exercises. Total program duration should be limited to approximately 90 minutes.

Workshops are offered on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8pm Eastern Time.

If you would like to offer a Presentation or Workshop, here is the process:

  • Complete the Presentation/Workshop Application Form. (Be sure to include a list of any required or suggested tools that you would like the audience to have available. This will be used in the description and promotion of the program.)
  • Your application will be reviewed, and if accepted, you will be contacted to schedule a date and be assigned a moderator.
  • Prepare a short introduction and the information/links that you would like the moderator to use to introduce you and to wrap up the program.
  • A week or two prior to the scheduled date, contact your moderator to discuss any details of how the program should flow and any help you will need. (You can also offer the moderator a list of suggested questions regarding the material in order to facilitate the Q&A section.)
  • Get on the call 15 minutes prior to start time in order to get settled, take care of any last minute issues, and be prepared to start on time.
  • Relax and have fun!

.

*NOTE: These online/virtual programs are not infomercials. The goal is to promote the speaker and their information in a professional manner to students who want to learn and expand their dowsing related knowledge and abilities through information exchange/knowledge sharing.
