ASD DIGEST VOLUME 56, NO. 2 SUMMER 2016

    EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

    BY TOM MEADE

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) was developed by Gary Craig in the early 1990s. Unlike many healing modalities, an original training manual (75 pages) and an instructor's manual (125 pages) were free online. Today, many free websites offer tutorials and thousands of examples of how to address specific issues. Many years ago, Earl Nightingale created a motivational tape program on "The Greatest Secret." It is so simple and you have heard it before – "You become what you think about." We all know that everything is a frequency (or vibration) and Einstein said, "Thought is energy" (i.e., frequencies). Bruce Lipton, a bio-quantum physicist, has stated that the real brain of a cell is not the nucleus, the DNA or the genes. You can remove the nucleus and a cell will continue to live; it just can't reproduce. The real "brain" of a cell is the cell wall, and what it allows in is what impacts the body. While the initial impact of a stressor on the body may only be on a small portion of cells, all cells of the body communicate with each other and can thus be negatively affected. These stressors could be environmental (toxins), physical trauma, nutritional, spiritual and/or emotional. Therefore, one stressor, such as our emotions, can impact all the cells of our body.

Practically all physical illnesses and diseases have an emotional basis to them. Even diseases that are genetically caused can be triggered by negative emotions. Not everyone who has a genetic structure for diabetes, breast cancer or sickle cell anemia, for example, develops the disease. But why not? Doctors call this the "placebo effect", as the medical profession is not ready yet to recognize stressors outside of viruses, bacteria, amoeba, parasites and fungi that open you up to illnesses and disease.

Too many people look for the physical healings; they look for the quick fix from the outside. But if the emotional basis is not addressed, the illness too often returns in another form to affect the body. A healer I know tells the story of a woman he was helping who went through a hateful divorce and came to him because she developed cancer. After several treatments the cancer disappeared, but she retained emotional issues of hatred for her ex-spouse...she refused to let go of these feelings. A year later she returned to the healer for further help. Her cancer was arrested (again), but. (again) she refused to address her hatred for her ex-husband. Even though he was no longer in her life, she was going to let her unresolved feelings ultimately kill her.

Too often, people chase healing modalities – wanting someone to heal them rather than taking ownership of their healing themselves. Healing modalities are wonderful "tools," but an individual must set their ego aside and become part of the healing process. People need to know they have the power within themselves to heal.

EFT, and other healing modalities such as Reiki, reflexology, Recollective Healing, Touch for Health, acupuncture, acupressure, qi gong, The Emotion Code and dowsing, all work with the meridians or energy channels of the body. I always make sure these channels are open or clear and perform a "meridian wash" of a client's 14 primary meridians. The technique by Mo Wheeler and Rebecca Garland called the "Less Than a Minute Energy Fix" (see the ASD Digest Fall 2015) is a great way to clear, balance and strengthen your own energy. This is also an important first step by the client prior to starting EFT.

Before I see a client, I always dowse for them using a list compiled from the work of Raymond Grace, John Butler and Mo Wheeler of issues one might have that need to be cleared. Clearing these issues is essential and ensures two things:

    (1) It prepares the client for their session

    (2) It protects the practitioner from "picking up" anything negative or detrimental from the client.

I also use the "Emotional Toxins" charts (from the Pendulum Dowser's Chart series by Anne Williams and available through the ASD Bookstore) to clear emotional stressor(s) that the client is ready to release.

Gary Craig has said that our early thoughts, actions and statements become the "writings on our walls" and they can impact us negatively for the rest of our lives. All those times we hear "no, don't do this, don't do that" as a child can progress to criticism, abuse or trauma from our parents, siblings, relatives, teachers, friend, classmates, bullies, bosses or caches.

Typically, a client has one or two major issues that are the most detrimental to their balanced health. Unless a client comes in asking for a specific modality, I will dowse to see what is most appropriate for their highest good at that time. Bio-feedback and EFT come up most often (and EFT almost always.) A client usually sees me for a specific physical issue they want addressed, but the overwhelming reason why the issue has occurred or cannot be resolved is emotional. Even thought the physical issue may be recent, the main negative emotion that needs to be released more than likely goes back for years. If not the result of a recent traumatic event, these negative emotions typically occurred more than five years in the past.

Some people undergoing an EFT session will have no success for a couple of reasons. They may have been brought to the session by well-meaning friends or relatives, but believe that they can't heal themselves of that EFT is not science-based and thus won't work. Another issue is the ego...You must let it go.

Remember that your power is unlimited! You can heal yourself of all things. You can accomplish anything you want if you will let go of negative thoughts, attitude, and behavior as well as fear, worry and anger. Jesus said, "All that I can do, you can do." And the Bible says that God created man in His image. In other words, you have the ability to be a co-creator with God. The path to balanced health is clear you just have to figure how far you want to walk on it without taking those side paths of fear, worry, negative thoughts, etc.

Before you start an EFT session, it's good to do some "cross crawls" (right elbow to left knee, then left elbow to right knee, several times) to get your energy flowing. Next perform the "Gamut Procedure," which takes about 10 seconds but gets both the right and left sides of your brain working. TO do this tap on the Gamut Point (see illustration) between the baby and ring fingers. While tapping, close your eyes, open them, look hard to the left, look hard to the right, look down to the left and look down to the right. Roll your eyes counterclockwise, then roll them clockwise. Hum a tune for two seconds. Count to five and then hum a tune for two seconds again.

To begin EFT, select an issue and focus on it for a minute. Bring to mind when it occurred and include the sensations present at that time, e.g., sight, sound, colors, temperature, feeling, scents, etc. Relive the moment and then assign the issue a number from 1 to 10, with 10 being the greatest negative emotion. If the issue is abuse suffered as a child for example, create an affirmation statement scubas, " I release the trauma of this abuse." Repeat the affirmation statement three times while tapping on the "Sore Spot" (see illustration), also known as K27.

Tapping will continue at the top of the head. Tap at least seven times while saying, "even though I was abused by ________, it is time to let it go. I don't want it. I don't need it. I choose to let it go."

Move to the bone between the eyes and repeat the same statement while tapping at least seven times.

Continue tapping and repeating the statement as you move to the occipital bone on the sides of the eye, the occipital bone below the eyes, under the nose above the lip, above the lip, above the chin and below the lip, where the collar bone meets the sternum, under the arm pit, points on the fingers and the karate point on the side of the hand. Finish by tapping the inside of the two wrist together.

When your tapping is complete, review the issue again, focus your senses on it, and assign it a number. It will be the first number that comes to your mind. Don't try to second guess yourself. If you originally assigned the issue a 10, perhaps it is now a 7.

Next, look at a tangent to that issue. For example, your next statement might be, "Even thought ________ abused me, and ________ knew about it I choose to forgive them." Repeat this new statement through another round of tapping. Reassess your "number" and keep repeating the process until you reach 0. Clients frequently believe that the issue was their "fault" as well and will need to also forgive themselves, which can be more difficult than forgiving other.

The release (achieving 0) is accompanied typically by a physical reaction. Gary Craig calls this the "ZZIT Point" and it may be a yawn, a deep breath, a wave of calmness or a vibration or tingling. When you feel this reaction, you will no longer need to assign numbers on the issue at the end of a found; you are done. Unless you consciously make an effort to bring it back, the issue is gone and will not return.

It is important to follow the guidelines as you begin to learn the tapping process. You need to verbalize your statements –some– times shouting them can help. But once you have the technique down, the rules can be broken: you won't need to use two hands on the eyes; it's OK if you miss a spot. I have one client who began virtual tapping as a marathon swimmer, going through the statements and points in her mind while swimming. Above all else it is important to be specific in your statement. A general statement such as, "Even though I have this anxiety, I don't want it, I don't need it, and I choose to let it go," will not clear because it is just too general! Fears and worries are usually big issues. So get specific. For example, "This fear of flying that I have because I think the plane will crash...I don't want it, I don't need it and I choose to let it go" is very specific.

It is essential to bring up the negative emotional issue in EFT and then follow it with a positive release such as, "I choose to let it go." Creating a statement with intent is crucial to EFT's success. One reason people don't continue with EFT on their won is that they "don't know what to say." My advice is: Just bring up a negative and follow it with a positive. Following are a few sample statements:

    • "Even though I ________ (enter specific issue)________, I don't want it, I don't need it, I choose to let it go."
    • "I choose now to ________(enter positive specific issue)________."
    • "Event though________(enter specific issue)________ has been with me all these years, it is time to let it go. I don't want it. I don't need it and I choose to let it go."
    • "Event though I get upset and nervous about ________(enter specific issue)________, I choose to be calm, confident and in control."
People are bothered by the negative thoughts that enter their minds. You can't stop those thoughts but you don't

have to keep it there. Say simply, "Cancel that thought." If it goes away, great: if it doesn't, then a quick round of tapping should resolve it.

EFT is not hard to learn and it works for everything  – physical and emotional. It has proven to be one of the best treatments for PTSD for veterans and is very effective in treating trauma incurred from abusive relationships.

Athletes also practice EFT to help heal sports-related injuries. I work with a client who is both a successful athlete and an astute business person. Significant issues developed within a family-run business and the client stepped in to help  resolve the problems. The emotional toll on my client was devastating and my client soon developed fear and a should problem. After one EFT session, everything changed. One athletic triumph led to another and within two years my client was named World Athlete of the Year in their sport!

MAP DOWSING – ARMCHAIR TREASURE HUNTING

    BY BOB ATER

    December, 1980

Map dowsing is quite simple if you know the proper techniques and practice doing it until it becomes a part of your mental habits. Readers of Lost Treasure have seen that the basic requirement for dowsing is to learn to relax and let your mind become calm. When you have accomplished this, you can think of only one thing - the object you are seeking.

    For successful dowsing you need:

    1) A calm mind

    2) A picture thought of the thing you are seeking

    3) A map of the area where you know or suspect the thing may be located

    4) A dowsing device which can give you a "yes" or "no" answer when you ask your subconscious mind, "Where is it?"

It is also necessary to have a strong desire to locate the object – not a tense urgency but a relaxed, strong desire. This attitude triggers appropriate brain wave patterns in the alpha, delta and theta range of your subconscious which seems to be involved in most psychic activity. You don't have to understand any of this. You just do it and it works.

In this issue of Lost Treasure I want to show you how to use a Y-rod, and L-rod and a bobber, or wand, to dowse a map. Always remember that any kind of dowsing, including map dowsing, is simply asking a pertinent question of your own subconscious mind which can be answered by a prearranged signal from a hand-held device. The subtle movement of the device indicates "yes" or "no." You believe the reaction and proceed accordinly. Experience promotes success. Success builds confidence.

    Witnesses

Many successful map dowsers use witnesses such as a small piece of material similar to that being sought or a photograph or a name written on a piece of paper. These are all useful in aiding visualization. I personally doubt that they do anymore than that. Learning to visualize clearly will work just as well. In the long run it may work even better, but for the beginner, witnesses are helpful.

    Y-rod Methods

    1) Scan the map with a moderately small Y-rod operated in the usual searching position. Focus on the tip of the Y-rod while asking it to snap down over the object being sought.

    2) Extend a wire from one hand as illustrated in the picture. Scan the map back and forth with the tip of the wire. Expect a reaction from the rod when the wire is pointing at the location of the object.

    L-rod Methods

    1) Hold the L-rod upside down so the long part is close to the map. Hold it near the edge of the map. Ask for it to point to the exact location of the object being sought. Draw a line on the map under the long part of the rod. Do the same from another edge or part of the map. The object should be at the intersection of the two lines.

    2) Using two L-rods ask for them to cross over the target as you move them over the map.

    3) Extend tow L-rods in front of you with a pencil or pointer held in one hand. Scan with the pinter. When the rods react with an outward swing or cross, the pencil is on the target.

    Wand Method

Make a flexible wand from a long spring or switch. Scan the map with a pencil. When the wand, held in the other hand, bobs up and down on its end you should be on the target. A Cameron Aura Metz can also be used.

These are only a few of the possible variations that can be used. The "magic" of all this is in no way in the devices used. It is all in your mind. Some may disagree but I must stick to my statement. It is all in your mind. The device is simply an indicator which provides a visual response to a question. The actual locating is done in the range of your own mind's processes. We do not understand what makes it work, but it does work.

Do not make it complicated. Keep it simple and you will succeed. And practice! practice! practice!

    Pendulum Method

    Tune the Pendulum

Every successful dowser has learned to rely on the subtle reactions of his or her chosen dowsing device a reliable "yes" reaction is the key to correctly reading your subconscious mind by dowsing methods. TO establish a reliable pendulum response, you must adjust your pendulum string to the proper length so that it responds without any conscious effort on your part.

    1) Hold the string as indicated in the drawing.

    2) Let the weighted end of the string slip slowly through your gingers until it volunteers some movements by itself.

    3) If the string is long enough there will be several points along it where this subtle movement will occur. To mark these for future reference you can tie knots in the string at those places. Another person using the same pendulum may find the movement occurs at a different spot.

    Establish Your Yes and No

Now that you have a subtle subconscious response established, ask your subconscious mind to show you how it is going to tell you "yes" in response to your question. You may get a clockwise rotation of the pendulum or a counterclockwise rotation.

It could also simply swing back and forth like an affirmative nod. Learn to believe your reaction and become comfortable and confident with it. Above all, be very objective in not consciously influencing the movement of the pendulum in order to simply confirm your preconceived ideas. Let it tell you yes or no, not the other way around.

A response for "no" can also be established in the same manner. Now you are ready to apply your dowsing skills to a map.

    Triangulation

This is the simplest and probably the best method. Hold the pendulum over the map at the edge, at a corner at the center or over a major land mark such as a building, hilltop or the like.

Ask the pendulum to swing in the direction of the thing you are seeking. Draw a line on the map under the path of the swing. Do the same from another point on the map. If what you are seeking is located in the area depicted by the map, the two lines should cross. The thing you are seeking should be at that location.

    Grid Method

Divide the map into two or more parts with lines or anything else. Number the parts. Ask, " Is the thing I am seeking in space Number One? Space Number Two? Number Three?" etc. If you get a positive reaction to your question when one particular space is mentioned, you can subdivide the the space and dowse again until you get a very precise area. You may also hold your pendulum or a pointer over each space, asking for a yes answer when the proper location is made. Two people may be employed with this method, one dowsing and the other pointing.

    Line Method

The pendulum is operated with one hand. A pencil held in the other hand is moved slowly over the map or just above the map as illustrated. When the pencil is pointing at the correct location the pendulum reacts with a yes answer. Two people may also do this, one dowsing and one operating the pendulum.

There are other pendulum methods but these are the most basic. Experiment and practice, practice, practice. Be patient and persistent. You may end up rich. At least you will have a lot of fun trying.

DOWSERS BRAINWAVES RESEARCH PROJECT PART 2

    LEIXICOR BRAINWAVE ANALYZER RESULTS

The brainwave patterns shown are those of Walt Woods, current ASD President. It is fitting and proper that Walt's patterns are the first ones described. Walt is truly a highly skilled dowser who has worked with his natural abilities and, with his decades of continued learning and practice, he has brought his dowsing skills to an exceptional high level of proficiency. With individual variations, all eight of the dowsers tested to date (four mean and four women) basically showed the same brainwave patterns as Walt showed.

Figure 5 shows Walt Woods' brainwave patterns while doing real dowsing "at task", and with his eyes open receiving his dowsing answers with the pendulum while observing the "pendulum dowsing multipurpose form" for the numerical answers. The "at task" virtual pendulum (device less dowsing) data is shown in Figure 6. On the left side of each figure is a brainwave amplitude color spectrum, as the highest amplitude. The amplitude is proportional to brainwave power levels.

Across the top of Figure 5 and 6 are the absolute amplitude (power) values for the theta, alpha and beta frequency ranges, with theta shown from 4.0 to 8.0 Hz, for example. Absolute values means that three separate "head" are being viewed, a theta, alpha and beta "head" with the amplitude (power) values in terms of each head by itself. The head is being viewed from the top with the front of the head toward the top of the page and with front, rear, left and right marked. Across the bottom of Figure 5 and 6 are the relative value power levels for the theta, alpha and beta frequency ranges. Relative power value show which frequency range is dominant. For example in Figure 5, with eyes open, beta is dominant over alpha and theta.

    FIGURE 5

DOWSING "AT TASK" WITH A REAL PENDULUM- EYES OPEN

    • Simultaneous High Power Levels in Beta, Alpha and Theta
    • Unusual Coherence, "Smoothness" Right Dominance, and High Power Level in Beta and Alpha Brainwaves
    • Unusual Coherence Level (All Neurons Firing in Synchrony)

Dr. Matthew Kelly4 has analyzed Figure 5, Walt Woods using a real pendulum, eyes open. His analysis shows the following: the data shows "an unusual simultaneous absolute high power level in theta, alpha and beta; an unusual coherence level in theta, alpha and beta; and an unusual coherence resulting in high power levels and "smoothness" combined with right brain dominance in both alpha and beta Coherence of the brainwaves means that large quantities of the neurons in the brain are firing in synchrony, greatly increasing the absolute power level in theta, alpha and beta." This coherence can be seen in the absolute patterns as high power color bands (green, yellow, shades of red and white) which are present as rings of color continuing on both sides of the brain.

    FIGURE 6

"AT TASK" VIRTUAL PENDULUM (DEVICE LESS DOWSING)

    • Significant Increase in Relative Alpha Eyes Closed
    • Simultaneous High Power Levels in Beta, Alpha and Theta
    • Unusual Coherence Level (All neurons firing in Synchrony)
    • Unusual Coherence, "Smoothness," Right Dominance, and High Power Levels in Beta Brainwaves

Dr. Kelly's analysis of Figure 6, virtual pendulum, eyes closed, shows the following; "unusual increased beta coherence, which means high power levels and "smoothness," unusual right side dominance of all absolute theta, alpha and beta frequency bands. Walt Woods eyes closed baseline state could be graded an "A" as compared with an "A better" for the eyes closed device less dowsing state with its increases in symmetrical coherence while device less dowsing." In other words, Walt was already very close to a dowsing state when his eyes closed non-dowsing baseline was tested. Relative values showed a large increase in alpha brainwaves compared to the eyes open state and a very surprisingly high power level for relative beta with high coherence. This implies thoughts and visions coming directly to the cortex from the limbic brainsysteml (the brain stem)." This condition was found to be the same in seven of eight of the dowsers tested. "unusual brain stem electrical activity was being generated. Walt had entered a state where limbic brain (brain stem) "pictures and subconscious images were providing information directly to the cerebral cortex. Stated differently "in device less dowsing, Walt had entered an altered state of consciousness where non-intellect is dominating consciousness and giving information directly to the cerebral cortex. It is as if Walt had projected the limbic brain system (the brain stem) into the earth to receive his water dowsing data."

COMMENTS ON DELTA BRAINWAVES FROUND IN DREAMLESS SLEEP

Dr. Jurka's Mind Mirror results showed that delta brainwaves, normally found in deep dreamless sleep, were recorded at such high amplitudes that they went beyond the 160 microvolt recording limit of the Mind Mirror. These high voltages were present both before the experimental procedure and during the dowsing. It is assumed that Dr. Jurka's people were also dowsing with tools (pendulums, etc.) during their tests. Dr. Matthew Kelly4 states "we must be very careful with interpreting delta brainwaves. The delta frequencies and the artifacts of muscle movement involve with each other. The hand movement with a pendulum or the movement of the eye muscles watching the pendulum move can cause distortion in the Lexicor mathematical formulas for the Fast Fourier Transforms and produce artificial delta brainwaves. We know that the Mind Mirror is also subject to muscle artifacts which can distort or misidentify delta brainwaves." As with Dr. Jurka's results, delta brainwaves were also observed in the dowser's Lexicor outputs. A configuration of the Lexicon specifically for measuring delta brainwaves will be set up for a future test. For now, reporting has been limited to theta, alpha and beta brainwaves.

    INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

The Mind Mirror and the Lexicor measure and present brainwave patterns in totally different ways, with the Lexicor allowing evaluations of dowsing brainwave responses in multiple ways, including Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs) and Trend Over Time displays, including clear color pictures of the outputs in the brainwave frequency bands. It can be stated that Walt Woods and all the other dowsers truly entered an altered state of human consciousness. All reported that they were subjectively in an altered state while dowsing and the measurements show objectively that they did enter an altered state to dowse. The dowser is feeling a different mental signature and they know it, they remember it, they act differently in it and it can also be seen on the records. Without this proof, the dowsers would be deluding themselves, wishing they were in a different mind state.

With dowser's "global" expansion of high power brainwaves simultaneously in theta, alpha and beta, dowsing is truly a creative state of mind, a creative altered state. Actually, there are two separate altered states, one eyes open using real dowsing instruments and another eyes closed using device less dowsing with a different profile and signature. The states are characterized with simultaneous coherent theta; including contact with the subconscious mind, the visual component of imagery and loss of time sense; coherent alpha, with he deep pillow of silence, quiet, beautiful both-hemisphere coherence; and coherent beta, with creative cognition, thought and intellectual analysis.

Comparing the eyes closed device less dowsing state with the eyes  open pendulum dowsing state, relative alpha increases along with a very surprisingly high power level for relative beta with high coherence. This implies thoughts and visions coming directly to the cortex from the limbic brain system (the brain stem). Dr. Kelly raises the following questions: "is the dowser's answer accuracy, all other factors being equal (Can I, May I, Should I, and the correctly worded question, etc.), improved and enhanced if the eyes are closed during the dowsing?" The author, when field dowsing of rat last decade, locates a water well site eyes open and then does al the depth, flow rate, drill-ability and water quality questions eyes closed standing at the location. The eyes closed brainwave responses hint at this possibility and open the door for further study.

APPLICATIONS OF THE DOWSING BRAINWAVE RESULTS

This article has been concerned with measuring the mental aspects of dowsing. It is well documented that there are also physical and physiological relaxation mind - body requirements to dowse correctly5, 6. Emotional factors include dowsers apparent higher emotional levels of joy, appreciation, gratitude for being alive and response to need7. Spiritual factors including intent (your correctly worded questions completely understood by your high self), permission (Can I, May I, Should I) after intent and your opening of your connection to the universal mind via the global expansion of the brainwave patterns of your own mind8,9,10,11.

Dr. Kelly provides this analysis after the evaluation of the brainwaves of all eight of the dowsers. "Dowsers are unusually mentally flexible. To have a mind that is flexible, labile and adaptive is good for your mental health. As we age, it is important to look at our brains as a muscle and push our mental capacities in new directions in the same way that we take care of our bodies with exercise and proper food. Dowsers are capable of shifting to a different and unique mental state with apparent ease. These brain gymnastics keep dowsers thinking about new things and constantly trying new idea. Dowsers cognitive schemes are constantly being shifted and the dowsing brainwave patterns are part of the dowsers natural mind state.

Once these globally expanded dowsing brainwave patterns are learned by repeated dowsing, they are constantly reinforced as dowsing prowess and progress increases and improves. The dowser has a multifaceted emerging interaction and a natural culture emerges. The dowsing brainwave patterns become a part of the dowser's daily life. The chicken feeds the eggs and the egg produces the chicken; it's a feedback loop and a learning loop combined." We can state at this time that:

    INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY

We know that dowsers obtain highly specific information in a YES -NO form by asking questions in their mind in the form of word and sentence questions or visual images. The answers are usually received by visually observing or feeling the physical motions of a real dowsing tool (a pendulum, Y rod, L rod or bobber) or by a virtual dowsing technique (device less dowsing)where the answer is sensed by a physiological change that the dowser has learned to recognize somewhere in their body. There is a decades old question: is there a measurable dowsing mind-state that is unique? Can dowsers brainwave characteristics be measured when they are actively dowsing? We are deeply indebted to Edith M. Jurka, M. D. for her most valuable and pioneering contributions to this research, published in the American Dowser1, which showed us dowser brain patterns as measured on the Mind Mirror electroencephalograph (EEG) developed by Dr. C. Maxwell Cade and Geoffrey Blundell.

In 1996, new research was conducted on dowser brainwaves using modern, computer-controlled EEG equipment which can produce color pictures of the brainwave patterns while the dowser is actually dowsing. This research project has the objectives of understanding how the dowser's brainwaves react and change while dowsing, to provide self verification, knowledge and subjective recognition of the dowsing mind-state; and, in the future, to provide other dowsers with on-target neuro biofeedback to hone and develop dowsing talents and skills. Above all, this new project has already demonstrated that dowser's brainwaves show real, repeatable, measurable and truly unique changes during dowsing with both a real pendulum and with a virtual pendulum (mental device less dowsing). Dowsing can be said to be a truly creative state of mind. The first results of the 1996 ASD Dowser's Brainwave Research Project are presented here.

DOWSING APPEARS TO BE A TRUE, UNIQUE AND CREATIVE HUMAN ALTERED STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS

    DOWSER'S BRAINWAVE MEASUREMENT TEST PROTOCOL

A group of 14 highly experienced and gifted dowsers will ultimately be tested, which will include seven men and seven women. This report covers the first eight dowsers who have completed testing, four men and four women. Matthew J. Kelly PhD, an Applied Psychophysiologist from Sedona, Arizona, was selected to do the brainwave measurements and analysis. His private practice, "Advanced Biofeedback and Therapeutic Hypnosis," includes ongoing use of a Lexicor Corp. Neuro search 24 Brainwave Analyzer as his brainwave measurement and analysis tool. The Neurosearch 24 is a modern, computer-controlled EEG system which produces color pictures of the dowser's brainwave patterns in specific frequency bands and outputs a variety of other separate data formats that allow detailed comparison of all parts of the test protocol for each dowser and for the same parts of the protocol for all of the dowsers.

    FIGURE 1

    ASD DOWSER'S BRAINWAVE RESEARCH PROJECT - 1996

Lexicor Corp. Neurosearch 24 Brainwave Analyzer

Set Up by Dr. Matthew J. Kelly,

    Specialist in Applied Psychophysiology

The test protocol has the same five parts for each dowser. The dowser wears a special "cap" which contains 21 separate sensors. A high-salt conducting gel is injected into each sensor using a blunt needle so that good scalp contact is made and meter-verified as having low electrical resistance. A wiring harness from the cap connects to the data unit and then to the computer central processor and display. Figure 1 shows Dr. Kelly preparing the author for testing. Note that this dowser has a Walt Woods "pendulum dowsing multipurposeform"2on his lap and is holding a pendulum for the real pendulum part of the protocol.

For the first part of the protocol, the dowser is asked to relax, eyes closed and not ask any dowsing questions. Brainwaves are measured. The second part involves engaging the mind by looking at a picture selected by Dr. Kelly. The dowser is asked to focus attention on the picture, and to think about the people in the picture, their life and how the dowser would interact with them. No dowsing questions are to be asked while looking at the picture. Brainwaves are again measured.

The third part is to actually dowse with a real pendulum, eyes open. Some dowsers have dowsed for water bearing aquifers under the building, asking specific questions about depth and flow rate. Others have asked questions of the land spirits about the energy in the building. All asked CAN I, MAY I, SHOULD I and dowsed the answer to these three critical questions after asking their basic set-up questions. After their brainwaves were recorded, all of the dowsers confirmed that they were "at task" doing real dowsing and receiving their dowsing answers with the pendulum while observing Walt Wood's form for the numerical answers.

The fourth part of the protocol was to again dowse "at task," but to use a virtual pendulum (device less dowsing) eyes closed and sense the YES-NO answers, including numerical answers, by pre-identified physiological changes in their bodies. Brainwaves were again measured while each person was dowsing.

The fifth part was to allow the dowser to do their own brief experiment and have their brainwaves recorded while doing a task of their own choosing. Some for example, have chosen to send healing energy to a remote location.

It is noted here that to define common denominators in EEG records is difficult because each human brain is different. It is realized that an EEG readout is merely an external indication of electrical impulses from the brain - a side effect, if you will of some sort of activity that is beyond our comprehension. The organizing fields maintaining the pattern, as well as brain activity for even a simple task, are tremendously complex; every one of the neurons is in potential resonance with all fields of enfolded subtle energy throughout the universe3. Yet clear results about dowser's brainwave states have been achieved and are reported here.

    BRAINWAVE FREQUENCY BAND DEFINITIONS

It is necessary to show and define the brainwave frequency bands so that Dr. Jurka's Mind Mirror testing and the new testing can be compared and analyzed. Figure 2 shows four major brainwave frequency bands which can be measured with an EEG, along with a sample of what each waveform looks like. People will feel different states of consciousness depending on the frequencies their brains are operating at, moment by moment. Brainwave frequencies are measured in cycles per second (cps). The cps measurements are expressed in Hertz (Hz). The characteristics are:

    FIGURE 2

Beta (14-30Hz) is the awake brain rhythm when attention is focused on the outside world, such as reading or processing visual information. It appears in problem solving such as doing math. Metabolically, it represents a hight arousal level and anthropologically it is produced with fear, anxiety, orienting and response for vigilance the "fight or flight" mechanisms.

Alpha (8-13 Hz) is described as an awake state of quiet inner awareness and rest when not responding to stimuli from outside or inside the mind. If the eyes are opened, visual input immediately adds beta and other frequencies. Metabolically, it represents a lower arousal than beta and anthropologically, it represents a state of rest and absence of vigilance.

Theta (4-7 Hz) is characterized by reverie ("lost in thought"), images and in half awake states just before or after sleep. When combined with other frequencies, it represents subconscious orienting problem solving, inspiration or deep meditation. Metabolically, it represents a low state of arousal.

Delta (0.5-4 Hz) is normally found in deep dreamless sleep. However, Dr. C. Maxwell Cade of  London1 found that it was added to other brain frequencies during higher levels of consciousness, at the onset of paranormal phenomena, or when reaching out to the unknown.

MIND MIRROR EEG OUTPUTS OF A TALENTED DOWSER

The Mind Mirror is a special electroencephalograph (EEG) that measures the micro voltage at each frequency band on each side of the frequencies in greatest detail. It is really two separate EEGs, one for each side of the brain. Figure 3 shows the Mind Mirror output display with the pattern of a talented dowser. There are 28 rows of lights, 14 on each side. When measurements are made, a constantly moving picture representing the micro voltage level for each of the 14 brainwave frequency bands is displayed. In Figure 3, only one light is shown lit in each row. This represents the maximum microvolt level for the specific part of the dowser protocol.

    FIGURE 3

    MIND MIRROR DATA OUTPUTS

To aid our understanding of the new brainwave data, Dr. Jurka's comparison chart of different brainwave states from 1983 is shown in Figure 4. Here, a line is drawn on each side from the highest frequency to the lowest frequency with represents how far out from the center the light is lit (or not lit) for each row of lights. Thus, maximum brainwave microvolt levels in each frequency band are displayed and the resulting differences in patterns for meditators and dowsers are clearly shown.

    DOWSING THE DEPTHS OF REALITY

THE KEY TO OTHER DIMENSIONS IN OUR WORLD

    BY THOMAS J. MILLIREN

    Intro -

I welcome this opportunity to share with you discoveries, experiences and methodology_I have used to explore dimensions of reality which we are a part of, but normally, have little access to.

    Summary -

The lecture and workshop focus on three basic areas of personal experience and study.

    1. The human phenomenon commonly termed dowsing/divining - an ancient art commonly associated with searching for underground water with a dowsing rod.
    2. Geopathic energy fi e l d s which randomly project from the earth and are damaging to human health as well as animal and plant life.
    3. The human aura consists of three separate energy fields which can be measured and evaluated by a competent dowser.
    4. Psychic healing phenomenon, its dynamics and reality as viewed by a practicing dowser. Dowsing techniques used in past life, future life, psychic search anomalies as well as case histories.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE DOWSING?DIVING PHENOMENON

The word dowsing is not clearly defined by the Webster's Dictionary. However, it is believed to originate as an Anglo-Saxon Word identified with a mental process of search using a simple instrument called a dowsing rod. The word "diving" is synonymous with dowsing and appears to be much older and has the inference of spirituality or power of divine beings.

Reference to man's knowledge of dowsing appears in ancient Egyptian temple art and also in ancient cave art in Spain and North Africa. The wise mean, shaman and magi of ancient tribes and cultures used dowsing to obtain insight and information to foretell and predict dangers and things to come. So called "non-civilized" tribes in remote areas of the world are still practicing dowsing today as an accepted part of daily life.

Dowsing is the use, by the individual, of an inherent mental process. It is a latent mental ability which must be experienced by an individual through sensing a reaction or signal using one or more of his/her five senses, in essence, a biofeedback process.

The portion of the mind which senses the dowsing signal is not the logic mind or the five senses but is another portion, the sub-conscious, which has much deeper access to a broad spectrum of information. It is unknown where this information originates from, whether it's internal or external in source. It appears to function outside the reference to three dimensional concepts and time in the earth plane. As we function in a pure  dowsing state, physical dimensions of distances, etc. and time become altered or nonexistent. Time becomes instantaneous with thought, distances referenced to physical displacement becomes limitless.

To initiate the dowsing process, several simple instruments are used. The instruments are essentially extensions of the dowser him/herself detecting and amplifying minute physical movements which then can be seen, felt and thus, interpreted as to their meaning.

GEOPATHIC FIELDS AND THEIR DESTRUCTIVE EFFECTS

Geopathic, or noxious energy field emanating from the earth's surface produce destructive effects to life forms, human and plant as well as inert masonry materials, etc. Their effect on humans is very complex but are believed rooted in mental disorders and disruption of "normal" human processes.

On location geopathic fields can be neutralized quite easily and without great expense. I have written a booklet entitled "Geopathic Noxious Field are Damaging to Your Health." The booklet is based entirely on personal research and working with people who have experienced health problems resulting from exposure to geopathic field energy.

MEASURING AND EVALUATING ASPECTS OF THE HUMAN AURA USING DOWSING TECHNIQUES

The human aura can be measured and evaluated by a competent dowser who has been properly trained in the technique. The auric energy fields which surround and permeate the physical body have a direct relationship to the physical body. In essence, they are mirror images of each other. Therefore, distress on one level is reflected in the other levels. Many anomalies which appear in the physical. disease, I.E. injuries, possession, etc. can be detected in the energy fields using the dowsing techniques.

    THE PSYCHIC HEALING PHENOMENON

Physical anomalies can be totally or partially eliminated through alteration and manipulation of the auric energy fields. This process is commonly referred to as "spiritual or psychic healing." The dowsing phenomenon allows access to these areas of information which are typically beyond the scope of today's technology. There is great potential for the use of dowsing technology in the field of human health.

Dowsing also has great potential in affecting many aspects of mental health. It can b used as an analytical tool in measuring and search out psychological problems and their origins. Within the past two years, I have concentrated my research in the area of anomalies with the mind, their causes and correction.

I have also conducted a great deal of research into the phenomenon identified through the ages as "spirit possession." I have, through actual experiences, developed a very. effective and safe way to work with people affected with spirit possession.

I have also researched a dowsing technique which I find very effective in performing past life search and release of residual emotional trauma which are very destructive to the person and in severe cases can manifest in self-destructive tendencies.

In summary, I cannot over empathize the importance of the information I have briefly touched on and will be present in greater detail with much supporting data and case histories. I believe my engineering background has provided me with the necessary guidelines to analyze these phenomena from a logical basis. Some of the experiences are beyond reality as we know it. Therefore, we find ourselves in a relatively unexplored area of human reality. In essence, a new stage of reality in which we are the players.

    BIOGRAPHY

I am retired and therefore quite free to do research work and travel. I retired nine years ago as a manager in the General Electric Company's Locomotive Department. My technical background is in electrical engineering, technical writing and customer product service. I owe a significant part of my career success to the use of some aspects of the dowsing technology which will be summarized in this paper and discussed in greater depth in the lecture and workshop programs.

I am a member of the scientific committee and life-time member, trustee and past Chapter President of the American Society of Dowsers headquartered in Danville, Vermont. I am also an active member of the Seven Continent Dowsing Society which is located int he Chicago, Illinois area and The International Association for New Science in Fort Collins, Colorado.

I have taught numerous schools on dowsing and related phenomenons as well as lectured at a number of colleges and organizations throughout the U.S.A.

    SEE WHAT YOU LOOK AT

    BY MARTY LUCAS

“See what you look at” is a quote from Dr. Dan Scow.  Dr. Scow was a brilliant veterinarian and soil scientist.  He was also one of those teachers that believed if you weren’t smart enough to ask the right question, he wouldn’t tell you until you did.

His point was simple.  Most of the things we need to know are right in front of us, but until we ask the right question, they stay hidden.  However, to ask that question we must be willing to step into the unknown and change our perspective.

There is no better tool for that than dowsing.  We can get an answer to any question, no matter how silly, or illogical, or even forbidden.  The answers are easy.  But asking the right question in the right way is the challenge. A challenge we all endure.  Then overcome when you finally allow yourself the freedom to start asking more questions, then you start to see just how interesting our world is.  The ‘rules’ and ‘natural laws’ we were taught in school are neither universal, nor mandatory.

Don’t believe me?  Then let me open a couple of doors for you.

Dr. Ellen Kamhi tells us that EVERY wives’ tale she has investigated turned out to be true.  When you consider what she means by that, it means our ancestors were very smart and very practical people.  They did things because by doing them their lives were made easier.

We may call it superstition, but by doing so, all we are doing is proving our own ignorance.

For instance, mainstream science doesn’t have an accepted reason for why dowsing works, so they discount it as nonsense.  But our ancestors certainly believed in it.  Here is just a single example.

Every farmstead across the Midwest needed a well.  Without a well, they couldn’t cook, clean or keep livestock.  So, they dowsed for where to dig their well. Digging a well is a major endeavor.  Not only is there the digging, but there is also the getting the soil out of the hole and shoring up the sides of the hole (usually done with rocks). So, for the farmer looking to dig, he must first get all his other work done, so he can spend the several days needed for digging.  He must find, gather, and carry the rocks he will need to shore up the sides of the hole as he digs. Furthermore, after just a few feet, he needs help lifting the soil out of the hole and eventually lifting him up as well.

So just imagine after digging all day in a deep dark hole, then finding the energy to climb up the rope to get out…. Then rest up, do the daily chores and get ready for the next day.  Not forgeting, before you leave the hole at night, you will need to build the rock walls to keep it from caving in.

IF dowsing for a well site was just chance, then throughout the Midwest, you would expect to find ‘dry holes’ from unsuccessful wells.  You would expect to see the shoring they did on the walls, and those holes would likely be at least 15’ deep.

    You don’t see that.  Anywhere.

That is because, dowsing for water works.  It doesn’t make any difference if the scientists believe it, because we have proof on nearly every farm from New York to Nebraska.

That is what I mean by SEEING what you look at.  Here is another example.

Nicola Tesla invented the bifilar antenna.  That is the antenna used in radionic instruments.  The concept is to take the signal, bend it back upon itself so that it cancels the electric and magnetic components of the signal, it cancels all the interference. We see the same bifilar design in a labyrinth.  The path takes the person around and doubles back and around again.  Just walking a labyrinth can clear your mind and calm your nerves. The point is you are doing the same thing!  You are cancelling the energies that are not harmonious.

    But wait it gets better….

In biodynamic farming, they make their preparations, then stir them in specific ways…. First clockwise for so many seconds then counterclockwise, the clockwise…. They do this for hours.  The very best biodynamic farmers keep a specific intent in mind as they stir. So, not only are they AGAIN, cancelling the discordant energies, by stirring back and forth they also opening up the liquid crystalline structure of the water to accept new patterns.

When you SEE what is happening, then you can also see how perhaps you can improve your next labyrinth, or your next preparation.

One last example for this paper.

In homeopathy the final step in clocking the new patterns into the liquid is succussing.  In most cases, by shaking the preparation, or in some cases tapping the container on the side. Each and every one of us has made a homeopathic preparation.  Maybe you just didn’t know it.  At some time, you were gathered around a table, and someone offered a toast, then you all clinked your glasses together. In effect, you created an intent, (a thought pattern) then you succussed it into the drink. Creating a thought pattern, then thumping the container ingrains that pattern into the liquid crystalline structure of the water.

So, what is happening when you are at a heavy metal concert?  Is there an energetic message being presented?  Yes, through the lyrics.  Is it being succussed?  Yes, through the bass…...  Whether that is a pattern you want impressed into the liquids in your body or not, is up to you. But when you SEE what is happening, then you can decide how to move forward.

So, many of the things we seek are hidden right in plain sight…….

QUESTION TO ASK WHEN YOU ARE STUCK

    BY SANDI ISGRO

Much like the advice to turn it off and back on again sometimes the simplest answer is the solution. It's always a good habit to keep the fundamentals in mind so your dowsing can be consistent.

Fundamental Dowsing: Do I Need to....?

    1. Do I need to: Ground? or Center?

    • Breath? Touch the Ground? or Meditate?

    2. Do I need to Clear for Interference to my Dowsing?

    3. Use Either Your Protocol or

follow the "May I, Can I, Should I" Protocol below:

    • "May I Dowse For.....?"

    • "Can I Dowse For This.....?"

    • "Should I Dowse for This.....?"

Once you are consistent with the fundamentals the margin for error is significantly diminished. Error however is not gone. Bellow are some helpful questions to hone in on the WHY your dowsing may be inconclusive.

Question to ask to find the RIGHT question:

    1. Write your question down. This avoids unclear questions when you read what you have written down. Unclear questions stand out like a sore thumb.

    2. If you are getting conflicting answers to the same question, you can either rephrase the question or go back to the basics. Going back to the basics acts like your reset button.

    3. Don Taylor suggests that you dowse each word in your question to see if it is the RIGHT word.

    • Would there be a better word to use?

    • Is there a word missing in the question?

    • Is there another question I should ask?

STOP CHASING SYMPTOMS FIX YOUR ROOT CAUSE!

    By Aaron Singleton

To resolve the root cause of a complaint, illness or condition that is adversely affecting your health requires determining why, how and when the pathogen, trauma or energy that took you out of homeostasis/balance entered your body. We refer to this as an original trigger or core imbalance that did not allow for normal restoration of homeostasis. Since 1993, our Singleton Medical Intuitive Root Cause Model has evolved into an entire framework and healing process to restore health in many thousand of clients.

I use our Energy of Life ® (EOL) Integrative Healing process to initiate a fascinating journey through unlimited possibilities for resolving the root cause of your complaint, illness or condition, no matter how minor or severe.

Within my practice, I have found headaches or migraines originating from the tailbone or sacrum, back neck and head injuries, emotions, toxins, pathogens and more. Rheumatoid arthritis may come from joint inflammation, but what is the cause of the inflammation? Antibiotics, antidepressants and anesthesia may still be in your body or brain 40 years after you were treated.

Physical or emotional trauma and shock may affect you in untold ways. Bacteria Viruses and candida may be in your brain, thyroid, sinuses, intestines, bladder, ovaries, uterus, vaginal lining, prostate, testicles, etc. If you can dowse the what, when, and how questions, you may be able to resolve it yourself.

Some time ago I met a client diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis who was on anti-inflammatory medications. When I evaluated her condition, I found misalignment of both first ribs, both elbows and wrists, and the carpal bones in her hands. The stress and compression in the misaligned joints were the cause of her pain and inflammation. After treatment, her pain was immediately gone and she could open jars and turn door knobs with ease. Three years ago, I evaluated a client in her 60s who could not read for more than 10 minutes without experiencing terrible eye fatigue. Her root cause turned out to be sadness stuck in her optic nerve from age 6. She reported that later in the evening, following her session with me, her eye fatigue was completely gone. Since then, she is able to read for hours at a time.

Many times, people will accept their pain or condition as part of "just getting old." I believe there is a root cause for everything, but you have to be willing to think and look outside the box. A medical diagnosis is not the root cause of your situation or condition. The medical model simply gives the cluster of symptoms a name. In some cases, your root cause may be genetic, so let's go into your gene pool and repair it. The bullying, physical, emotional or sexual abuse you experience as a child or adult may be too painful to look at, so let's bypass the brain and simply remove it from your thought field, aura, bioplasmic field, torus field, or chakras.

Chasing symptoms with medications and sometimes unnecessary surgeries or medical procedures just leads to more of the same. Finding and resolving your root cause is the most important and empowering journey you can do for yourself.

If you dowse it, you can find it.

If you dowse it, you can fix it.
